trees

Israel was not well supplied with trees, but timber was constantly needed for buildings and on farms. Wood for the Temple was imported (1 Kgs. 5:8). Among the trees mentioned in the Bible are cedars (abundant on Mount Lebanon), cypress, palm (which has a great capacity for survival), and sycamine (mulberry).
